Description

A breakdown on the road usually means one of two things: a long wait for a pickup, or a friend on another bike and no safe way to connect the two. The Kroozer Towing Strap is the second option done properly. It is a single 2.5 metre length of 2 inch high-strength nylon webbing with a sewn loop at each end, reinforced with box-X stitching, and nothing metal anywhere on it. It rolls small enough to live under the seat until the day you need it.

Will this fit my bike?

Yes. The Kroozer Towing Strap loops around the footpeg, so it works on any motorcycle with footpegs. There is no bracket, no clamp and nothing to bolt on. The one thing to check is that the peg you loop it to is solidly mounted and not damaged.

How to use it

The connection is diagonal, on purpose. The towing bike in front takes one loop on its LEFT footpeg. The towed bike behind takes the other loop on its RIGHT footpeg. That cross connection keeps a lateral gap between the two motorcycles, reduces the chance of them converging, and gives both riders more room to react.

1. Loop one end securely around the left footpeg of the front (towing) motorcycle.
2. Loop the other end securely around the right footpeg of the rear (towed) motorcycle.
3. Keep the strap clear of the exhaust, wheels, chain, brake parts and any sharp edges.
4. Take up the slack so the strap is reasonably taut before the front bike moves.
5. Tow smoothly. No sudden acceleration, braking or jerking.
6. Maximum towing speed 30 km/h.

Both riders wear full riding gear and helmets. The rider on the towed bike controls its brakes and steering the whole time.

Before every use

• Inspect the whole strap. Do not use it if it is cut, frayed, burnt or damaged in any way.
• Do not exceed the weight, incline or speed limits above.
• Not for lifting, hoisting or cargo securing.
• Do not tow a motorcycle whose wheel is locked or will not roll freely.
• After any shock load, inspect the strap again and replace it if needed.
• Read the printed instructions before first use.
